Sexual Trauma Support Group for Teenage Girls

Calling all high school aged girls…

New sexual abuse/assault support group forming now

Did someone force, trick, or coerce you into something sexual? Do you feel ashamed, confused, or dirty?

Do you wonder if you will ever be happy again?

Life after a sexual trauma like abuse or date rape can feel…well…awful. Commonly, people will feel like…

  • school is overwhelming
  • friends and family just don’t understand
  • you never know when the memory might pop back up or your anxiety will spike and take over
  • people either overreact or want to pretend like it didn’t even happen
  • it’s hard to care anymore
  • you don’t fit in
  • the future isn’t so bright anymore

But life doesn’t have to be this hard. The goal isn’t for you to survive. You already did that. Now is the time to start really living again (or maybe for the first time ever).

Join our weekly small group with girls who get it.

The Details

When:

Tuesday evenings in Round Rock.

Once we’ve gotten some people signed up, we’ll set an exact time based on what works for you.

Where:

@ Hope For The Journey offices (1101 Satellite View #501 Round Rock, TX  78665)

How Much:

$25/session

Payments can be made with credit card, HSA accounts, debit, cash or check. We’re out of network for insurance companies, but you’ll get a superbill, which has all the info needed to submit for out of network benefits, if needed. And we’re happy to walk you through that process if you’re new to it. Insurance can be confusing!

How Long:

The group will meet for 10 weeks (maybe 12 if the group decides they want a little more, but that’s 100% up to you).

What to Expect:

Kori Stauffacher (LPC-Intern supervised by Celina McDonald, LPC-S) will be your therapist to make sure you have the support you need to open up. Each week, she’ll have a theme to start things off and the rest will be decided by the group. Themes will include things like how hard it is to talk about it, all the feelings that come up, dating, etc…

You’ll be able to talk…or not talk…as you want. But we hope you do participate. As much as the group will help you, you will be able to help others in the group, too.

Most of all, expect to have a safe place to work through what happened–a place where you won’t have to explain yourself over and over because everyone will already get it. A place where you can start to feel more in control and understood.

No kid should have to experience a sexual trauma. But if you have, there is help. Schedule your free 15-minute telephone consultation online to get your questions answered and sign up now.
