Maegan Woytek, LPC, she/her/hers
Therapy For Sexual Assault, Childhood Trauma & First Responders
Hi! I’m Maegan.
It’s super important to me that you can just be you in therapy to make progress so my approach is all about helping you see yourself the way I see you…brave, resilient, and extraordinary.
Therapy doesn’t have to be super serious and dramatic. I don’t expect you to walk in, spill your guts, and complete a worksheet to fix all your problems. I take a much more laid-back, person-centered approach because you deserve to be treated like the strong, capable person you are.
I help tweens, teens, and adults to feel comfortable with themselves and strong enough to bear the experiences of the past. You are not broken or damaged. Let’s get started today.
Why My Clients Choose Me For EMDR and Anxiety Help
It’s hard to admit, but you know something is off. On the surface, there doesn’t seem to be a reason. This is frustrating because if things are going so well, why do you feel so bad all the time? As hard as you work to hide it, you worry that something is really wrong.
As your counselor, my job is to help you see that you are so much more than your anxiety and what happened to you in the past. To do so, I use proven techniques like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I’ll give you the tools to feel better while helping you feel comfy and relaxed, and you might even have fun.
Therapy doesn’t have to be boring, “professional,” and serious. It should work, and it’s okay to have some fun along the way! Schedule an appointment today.

What Is Anxiety and PTSD Treatment Like?
Most people are worried that going to counseling means they are going to have to talk about what happened. That feels terrifying. I get it.
Honestly, you probably will end up talking about it eventually, but only on your terms. My job is to help you get to a place where you want to tell your story, and it doesn’t feel so overwhelming to do so.
After trauma work, my clients tell me things like:
- I can’t believe I was able to talk about it. I did it!
- I’m so excited because I just realized I went a whole day without thinking about it.
- I feel like myself again (or I feel normal again)
- The trauma doesn’t feel like the biggest part of my life anymore.
- I finally tried going out again, and it was fun! I haven’t felt like doing that in forever.
You've Already Survived The Worst Part.
Why I Love Being an Online Therapist
You might worry that it will be harder to feel a connection with your therapist when seeing them online instead of in person, but that’s not the case at all! In fact, most people don’t feel that way at all. Online therapy has proven to be as effective (and sometimes more effective) than meeting in-person.
Some benefits of online therapy include:
- There’s no commute! You can pop in for a therapy session on your lunch break
- You don’t have to walk through a waiting room full of people with mascara running down your face after a particularly hard session
- You don’t have to get out of your pjs
- You can have your emotional support animals there with you being able to wrap up in your favorite blanket

Why I Love Helping People Heal From Sexual Abuse and Trauma
It sounds weird to think someone would actually like dealing with sexual abuse and trauma for a living, and believe me, I don’t like the stories. What I do like is slowly starting to see my clients show up to sessions less tearful and excited about a relaxing weekend instead of dreading time alone with their thoughts. I love seeing my clients start to see a future for themselves and believe they deserve good things and that they are good.
When sexual abuse and trauma counseling work, you come away feeling:
- strong
- lovable
- able to do hard things
- confident
- able to protect yourself
- able to make good decisions
Down To Earth Counseling At The Touch of a Button
Who I Help
Sexually Abused Tweens, Teens and Adults
Has your 8 to 17-year-old just disclosed abuse, and you have no idea where to start? Maybe they are falling apart or are suspiciously okay? Or are you an adult who has realized the things that happened to you as a child and need a safe space to work through those things? Let’s make sure the cycle of abuse ends with you.
Teens Going Thru Shitty Times
You shut down because you don’t feel like adults understand you. You don’t think anything’s wrong. Your parents don’t agree with how you cope, but that’s their problem. Who cares if you cut yourself a few times, drink every once in a while, or if your boyfriend had a bad day and lost his temper? Well, I care and I’m here to really listen.
Helpers Who Need Help
You’ve spent so long putting others first, but it’s getting harder to ignore that you’re struggling and need help. But imagine how much more help you would be if you felt healthy and whole. Whether you’re a first responder, in the medical field, or a therapist yourself, it’s hard to find the time and energy to take care of yourself. Well, it’s time to put your oxygen mask on first!
