Therapy For Adults and Teens In Texas

Hi! I’m Katy, Clinical Director here at Hope For The Journey.

If you’re ready for someone to level with you, I’m here to help you get your life moving in a better direction.

Many people go through things in life that make them feel alone and misunderstood. It’s hard to let your walls down after you’ve been hurt. Being tough or making yourself BIG feels easier than letting people in. My job is not to force down your walls or change you. I’m here to help you keep your strength and improve your relationships.

I help kidsteens, and young adults (particularly men) to feel strong and connected. You can turn your life around with the right tools. Let’s get started today.

Why My Clients Choose Me For Anger Management and Help With Stress

At Hope For The Journey, we are dedicated to helping clients like you feel strong, capable, and whole despite whatever is holding you back. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an open-hearted approach that allows you to build safety and connection in your life. I specialize in three core areas: fertility and women’s issues, adolescent mental health, and couples counseling.

Isn’t it time for a change? You can have the life you deserve with the right guide. Let’s get started today.

Reviews For Katy Harmon, LCSW

“Katy is smart and really able to hone into what is needed to turn things around.

“Katy couldn’t have come in to my life at a better, more serendipitous time. She has been so incredibly uplifting and supportive. She gives me “homework” which I personally enjoy – having something tangible to work on and report back with.”

Katy is the “best therapist I’ve had. She listens so well and helps me realize something about myself I didn’t notice every time we meet.”

Why Seek Anxiety and Depression Counseling?

The truth is, if you don’t want your life to change, we won’t be a good match.

Whether I’m working with an 11-year-old, an older teen, or someone trying to navigate the newness of adulthood, I am looking to help you discover what makes you strong, self-aware, and resilient.

A hard childhood and relationship traumas can leave you doubting yourself and disliking the person you see in the mirror. You might be struggling with feeling…

  • Mad all the time
  • Impatient with the world
  • Lonely & less than
  • Unsure where to start
  • Overwhelmed
  • Uncomfortable in your own skin

Asking for Help Doesn't Mean You Aren't Strong

Why I Love Being an EMDR Trauma Counselor

Growing up wasn’t always easy for me-just like for many of my clients. Living in a rural area, I didn’t have access to much mental health support. It felt like I didn’t know where to turn.

That’s why I strive to be an ally and an advocate for clients who need a little extra help, especially those with a history of neglect or abuse. My training has given me powerful tools to help people heal. I find inspiration in my clients’ willingness to grow.

My favorite thing is seeing someone have a “lightbulb” moment. You know, that moment when something clicks into place. Suddenly something that was hard and felt overwhelming makes sense and feels manageable. I just love that! I feel honored to be a part of that journey.

If you are ready to feel better, I would love to help get you started.

Why I Love Helping Teens and Young Adults

To me, therapy is all about becoming. But sometimes you need to overcome before you can become the person you are meant to be.

When you engage in counseling that works, you should feel:

  • empowered
  • likable & worthy
  • able to move forward
  • comfortable in your own skin
  • in control of your reactions
  • excited for your future

Counseling that is Direct, Personable, Funny, Caring, and Smart...

Who I Help

Do you put a lot of pressure on yourself? Is it hard to make mistakes? Is it hard to be yourself because you constantly worry about what someone else might think? I can help you break this pattern & find a better balance.

Autism & ADHD

It can sometimes be overwhelming to feel your feelings. You’re smart & can usually outmaneuver those around you, but you can’t always avoid your feelings. You feel stuck & overwhelmed. I help kids and adults to learn how to get unstuck, understand themselves, and avoid overload from feelings.

Anger Management

Has life made you bitter? Do you feel angry or irritated most of the time? Once you figure out what is underneath your anger, you can learn skills to be in control and get more out of life.
