About Traci W. Pirri, LCSW-S, Owner/Director
Hi! I’m Traci.
As head of the Hope For The Journey team, I see a limited number of clients, provide EMDR consultation, facilitate trainings and speaking engagements, and make sure that all of our clients, community partners, and clinical team are empowered to heal and thrive. In whatever capacity you are reaching out, I would love to connect and see how I might help you move toward health and authenticity.
About Hope For The Journey
Why Clients Choose Hope For The Journey
Our clients have been handed some really tough experiences in their lives. Traumatic experiences can break apart trust, families, and lives. Too many people believe they have to live with the pain of the past (in particular from a sexual trauma) for the rest of their lives.
We reject that idea! To be sure, you’ll always have the memory. But that doesn’t mean you can’t let go of the pain and the shame that make traumatic events or sexual assault so hard to live with.
At Hope For The Journey, we provide specialized counseling so kids, adults, parents, and partners can heal and live freely and with joy. We know firsthand that this is possible because we witness our clients overcoming trauma every day.
What My Clients
Say About Me
“Doing this work has inspired me in my relationships and has changed the very way I react to life.” ~ Client A
“I’ve seen so many therapists over the years, but this feels different.” ~ Client B
What Consultees
Say About Me
“Traci has been a true gem as a consultant! I enjoyed her focus and support with checking the fidelity of EMDR. She’s helped with increasing my knowledge, comfort level and confidence in using EMDR consistently. My experience with her was definitely worth the investment!” ~ Rochelle Webber, LMFT
“Traci has helped me take my EMDR skills and confidence to a whole other level! Since starting consultations with Traci, I’m no longer hit with a sense of panic in sessions from not knowing what to do when a client gets stuck, starts looping, dissociates, or has an abreaction. I wish I had started this process years ago.” ~ Maegan Woytek, LPC
Why I Do This Work
Too many people think that PTSD, anxiety and depression are life-long sentences. I have seen first-hand how false that can be. I have had the honor of seeing clients move from daily or even hourly panic attacks to finishing grad school, getting married, and enjoying a family.
You deserve to not just heal, but thrive!
I started Hope For The Journey because I wanted survivors to experience what it feels like to heal, learn to love themselves again, and live fulfilling lives. I wanted to create a place where you can know that you are being cared for by experienced, qualified professionals who really care about you and your recovery.
Over time, I’ve come to develop a proven method for achieving both of those goals. So, Hope For The Journey was born to teach more therapists my methods so we can help more people.
It is such as honor to lead a company who is dedicated to “pushing the envelope” in Texas when it comes to trauma treatment.
Everyone needs someone who believes in
their ability to heal.
Why I Love Being an Anxiety and Depression Therapist
I love to work with hard working, high passion people who feel like something is holding them back–maybe something from their past. I help you to improve relationships, quality of life, and really embrace your life to the fullest.
I have spent most of my career focusing on honing skills towards healing trauma, which can feel very different than traditional talk therapy. If you are looking for something a little more direct, a little more creative, and a little deeper, you’ve come to the right place.
Life doesn't have to be so hard.
Who I Help
Recovering Perfectionists
You have come to a point where everything is starting to become too much. You just can’t do it all anymore. You feel like you are being controlled by worry or comparisons. The more stress you feel, the more perfect everything has to be, but it all just starts to feel overwhelming after a while. Just because you think you “should” feel a certain way doesn’t mean you always do. The truth is you can have a life that feels alive…a life that you love. Sometimes, it just means you need to clear out some of the junk that is getting in the way first.
Failed Relationship Patterns
For some reason, you can’t maintain a healthy relationship. Your peers are moving on with their lives–getting married, having kids…but you feel stuck. You don’t know what’s wrong or how to fix it. I help people to dig into the past to find the reasons things keep going south. Once you understand the reasons for your attachment style, you can unhook those experiences from today. This frees you to be more fully and authentically you.
Exhausted Helpers
Do you put everyone first before yourself? Are you exhausted and no longer finding the spark that has always driven you in the past? Helpers–professionally or just by nature–are at higher risk of developing burnout. I help you find your spark again. We dig deep to root out what is holding you back and help you come back to yourself.
Creative Types
If you have always been a little quirky or had trouble fitting in, you have found your place now. I love helping people to explore themselves and grow to like the person they see in the mirror. It is an honor to watch my clients become proud of the person they are and to love themselves the way they deserve.
There is Always Hope
—especially when you are tenacious and armed with techniques that work. My clients often tell me they cannot believe how much relief and happiness they feel once they have worked through the things getting in the way and learned to embrace all of their story.
- Understand yourself
- Embrace your own uniqueness
- Build relationships that matter
- Quiet your critical voice
- Learn to play and enjoy life
As a certified EMDR (or Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) provider and supervisor for provisionally licensed clinicians, I have been humbled by the effectiveness of treatment modalities to heal the past and help people overcome unspeakable tragedies.
My career has led me to seek out better and better treatment options for healing trauma, calming anxiety, and releasing depression. Some of these include Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and more.
I have a special passion for working through dissociative disorders and complex trauma. Together, we will keep working to build and collect what works for you so that you can feel stronger and heal.
Everyone deserves a healthy & fulfilling life no matter what life has thrown their way.
