Who I Help

New Moms

Learning to be a mom without losing yourself can be a struggle. Don’t waste time waiting for it magically feel easy. I get your struggle because I’ve been there myself & I’m ready to help.

Couples

They say relationships are hard. But it doesn’t have to be soul-breaking. You deserve to feel understood. Let’s help you shift gears to building a connection that lasts.

Tweens/Teens

Adolescence should be an exciting time when you get to choose who you want to be. But if you’re held back by something from the past, it can be easy to feel lost and misunderstood. I get it and am here to help.

Why New Moms Choose Me For Postpartum Help

I remember, in the early days after my oldest was born, lying in bed with my thoughts racing & every muscle in my body tense. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. All I could think about was how I was never going to be able to keep my daughter alive. I struggled way too long with these feelings and don’t want anyone else to feel alone or forever broken by postpartum anxiety and/or depression.

I am here to support you on your journey towards parenthood and emotional well-being. My approach focuses on:

  • Reducing Overwhelm: I’ll help you regain control over your life and thoughts, allowing you to feel more present and hopeful every day.
  • Strengthening Relationships: We’ll address your fears about your relationship and help you to foster a stronger connection with your partner.
  • Managing Anxiety: Together, we’ll equip you with strategies to manage day-to-day anxiety and navigate the emotional rollercoaster of parenting.
  • Finding Meaning: Through treatment, you’ll discover a more meaningful way to show up in life, as a parent AND a human, and achieving a sense of peace and self-acceptance.
  • Overcoming Grief: If your path to parenthood has involved infertility or loss of a child, I’ll help you move through this pain so you can embrace your current joys and struggles without being overwhelmed by the past.
  • Self-Care and Balance: You’ll learn to implement self-care practices and balance to help you thrive in all aspects of life.

I understand that you have a busy life. You are more than just a mom. You might also be a business owner or career-minded human who cherishes nature, travel, and your support network. I provide an open-hearted approach, creating a safe space where you are heard and seen, enabling you to embrace new possibilities.

Counseling that is Active and Changes Lives

Why I Love Helping with Couples Counseling

Are you facing challenges in your relationship due to family dynamics or mental health issues? I specialize in helping couples by:

  • Navigating Boundaries: Maybe you and your partner are struggling because of opinionated family members, recently becoming parents, or a demanding job. It can be hard to figure out how to show up as a partner while also being a son/daughter, a parent, or a busy executive. I love assisting couples, especially with challenging family or work dynamics, to set manageable boundaries.
  • Communication: Learning how to listen to each other involves making an assumption that other person is doing the best they can in any given moment. Once you’ve made this commitment, we can build skills that help you to resolve conflict more quickly and get back to enjoying life.
  • Supporting Mental Health: If one or both of you suffers from anxiety, depression or PTSD, it can be hard on your relationship. I help partners to understand how to support each other in ways that feel good and manageable.
  • Appreciation and Connection: We all want to feel close to our partner. We all want to feel appreciated and valued. Life’s struggles can sometimes build a wall. Couples counseling helps you move through those challenges to find each other again.

Are you ready to create the home and family life you have always wanted? Life is short. There’s no reason to feel miserable for any longer than necessary. I have availability and can generally schedule within the same week.

Why Seek Adolescent Mental Health Help?

Is your teen or tween struggling with self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or a traumatic past? I specialize in helping adolescents overcome challenges by:

  • Building Trust: Tweens and teens need to know that it’s okay to be exactly who they are. It’s not uncommon for our therapy sessions to take place sitting on the floor, doing things that my clients like to do in order to help them feel safe in order to open up.
  • Parental Education: If your child has been struggling with cutting or suicidal ideation, you likely are terrified that something serious is going to happen. My job is to guide parents to understand the depth of their child’s struggles and how to support their journey.
  • Authenticity: There’s so much pressure on teens to look a certain way or act a certain way. When you’ve been through something traumatic, it can be hard to meet those expectations because, let’s face it, just getting out of bed can sometimes be a challenge. I help teens find the courage to be authentic and express their feelings without fear of rejection.
  • Safety: The benefit of seeing a trauma therapist is that we’ll have the framework needed to ensure that your teenager feels physically and emotionally safe, with the goal of preventing self-harm.

My approach empowers teens to thrive by being their true selves.
